Hungarian Text Translation

This project in partnership with Dr. Henry Fuchs aims to develop a system to translate Hungarian text into English, tackling a range of technical challenges. These include replacing image captions at comparable spatial locations, translating handwritten text while maintaining its position within documents, and managing line breaking to preserve the original text flow. By addressing these challenges, the project delves into foundational problems in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning, particularly in translation and character recognition. Moreover, this endeavor contributes to historical preservation, as it will help make important Hungarian texts more accessible to a global audience.
